Well hello there. Long time no see!

Sorry for the delayed blogging. We’ve been working on a number of projects here at the studio and are getting back into the swing of things. But don’t worry, we’re still here!

And we’ve got some exciting news. We’ve added a new member to Team Bamboo. She’s our new intern. She’s fabulous. She’s fun.  She’s bursting with talent. And she’s ready to spill her creative juices all over the place.  Her name’s Laura and she’s a blast to have around. We love her. And you will too. Feel free to come by and meet her. You’ll be glad you did, trust me.

Well, wouldya look at that. It’s me. Haley. We thought since it’s been a while, we’d remind you what we look like. Here’s me. Cheesing. Laughing. And shying away from the camera. Yep, sounds about right!

And lastly. The one. The only. The photographer you’ve all come to know and love.  Aaron. In all his glory.

These pictures say it all. We have an awesome time. So come see us already!!

Ally & Randi: The Dynamic Duo

Hi all. I’d like to introduce you to Randi and Ally. And let me just say up front, these girls are awesome. We had so much fun watching them act like sisters.  And I love that we were able to catch their sisterly dynamic on camera. They kept Aaron and I very entertained. Bottom line, we had a blast!

randi11

Randi plays Varsity basketball at West Stanly and is in Cosmetology. She loves Hello Kitty, being with friends, movies, and bowling. And loves giving her sister “the look.”

ally1

Ally is also in Cosmetology. She’s outgoing,  loves her friends, having fun, Sundrop, and chicken. And my favorite part about Ally? She loves to smile. Can’t you see why we had such a good time?

love1

Oh, and did I mention Ally and Randi are twins? Because they are. And people, they have a good time together. They’re sisters through and through. And to top it all of, they’re both big time Carolina fans. Makes me like them even more!

love2

Ally and Randi’s shoot is a perfect reminder that we make you look awesome year-round. It doesn’t need to be Summertime before you can get your pictures taken. Winter and Spring make for awesome shots too! If you’re interested in changing it up and getting your senior pictures done soon, let us know. We’d love to schedule your appointment today. Call 704.888.2881 or email me at haley@bamboostudios.net to book your shoot today!

We look forward to working with you!

We wanted to wish all of our Bamboo friends a Happy New Year. We hope 2010 is an amazing year for everyone! Speaking of the new year, we have a few things we wanted to share with you.

The studio will be closed for the month of January. We will not be able to schedule any photo sessions during that time. However, we will be open every Wednesday (January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th) from 10 to 6. I (Haley) will be available for viewing consultations, checking emails, answering phone calls, returning voicemail, scheduling appointments, and I’ll simply be present so that you can come pick up any orders. Note: Any orders placed during the month of January will not be ready until the beginning of February.

We apologize for any inconvenience but look forward to seeing you in February! We will return to the studio with our regular business hours beginning February 2nd. That’s Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 6pm. Feel free to go ahead and schedule appointments now!

We’ll miss you but we’ll be back before you know it. Have an awesome January!!

Emily: The Deadly Weapon

She speaks the truth, folks. This is Emily from Piedmont. And if you’re wondering what the little “hi yah!” kick was about, then you should probably know that Emily is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. That’s right, you don’t want to get on Emily’s bad side. Or she’ll take you down. You think I’m kidding.

emily1

Funny thing is, Aaron tried just that. To get on her bad side that is. He figured a video of Emily flipping him to the ground would be a good idea. I wasn’t about to disagree. I mean, let’s be honest, that would be pretty funny.

But she stood her ground. Good for you, Emily.

emily2

emily3

Emily grew up in Indiana and moved to this neck of the woods about 5 years ago.  She loves football, art, and photography. She’s also involved in tennis and swimming. And although she’s used to the city, she’s come to love the country. In the words of Alan Jackson, she’s “Gone Country.” And frankly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.

emily4

emily5

Emily experienced one of our more eventful photo shoots seeing as how we braved the river and the chair in the middle of a bridge and running through an open field during hunting season… yet she breezed through it all. Must be all the Tae Kwon Do training.  I might need to look into that.

But all that aside, we had an awesome time. Emily was adventuresome, hysterical and a great model. The perfect mix. And if you don’t feel as though you got enough of Emily, there’s more to be seen here. And here. (Keep your eyes peeled for Aaron’s acting and voice over debut). As you can see, we have a number of video outtakes for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy. I know we will!

Alex: The Legend

We’d like to welcome our first Central Cabarrus senior of the year. His name is Alex. And he is quite the model.

Take a look and see for yourself.

alex1

alex2

Man’s, actually Alex’s, best friend had a small cameo appearence during the shoot as well. For those of you who don’t know, this is Pandora. You may have seen some of her early work in the 2009 Chocolate Lab Pups calendar and a feature in the upcoming 2010 Just Chocolate Labs calendar. Alex claims to have taught her everything she knows, which could be a bad thing because Pandora’s career has been hampered by the inability to turn left. Standing still however, is a piece of cake.

alex3

alex4

We had quite an eventful shoot with Alex. Aside from the leaves and the mountain folk, we even had a little run-in with some seriously awesome sports cars. So we made sure we got a shot of Alex with the very sleek Nissan GTR. What a beauty. Man, that car makes Alex look gooood. Wait, or is it the other way around?

alex5

alex6

Alex loves 4-wheeling, fishing, and hunting. He’s also into Football, Baseball, Hockey, Science Club, and engineering. Basically, he’s a jack of all trades. He needs to add model to that resume of his as well. Just sayin’! Oh. Yeah. And he’s a pretty big Red Sox fan too. But we’ll try not to hold that against him. Well Aaron will. But I can’t promise anything.

alex7

alex8

We couldn’t be more excited about how everything turned out with Alex’s shoot. From the weather, to the location, to the outfits and even the hairstyle… it was just plain awesome. Bottom Line: Alex rocked it out.

Come and rock it out with us sometime. Alex took advantage of our Fall on the Mountain special this year. Which is always a good idea for our seniors. Our seasonal specials aren’t just for families. If you’d like to be in the know of when these specials are happening, then we recommend signing up for the newsletter. You can sign up at the bottom of the blog. This will put you on the list of lucky people who receive our monthly newsletters. This is how we make all of our big announcements. And you’ll be the very first to know of any specials that we’re having. So c’mon and join up. You just might end up with images like Alex’s. And let’s be honest, they’re incredible. Call 704.888.2881 to schedule your appointment today!

the one. the only. THE Jonathan Lemmon.

I know what you’re thinking. Who is this Jonathan Lemmon fella?

Well, allow me to fill you in. Jonathan is a Christian music artist from Greensboro. He’s hysterical, he likes to have a good time, and people… he’s super talented. We insist that you check out his music here.

Jonathan needed a few shots for promotional material.  So that’s where we came in. We were able to get some amazing stuff (as you can see) and had an absolute blast. And we laughed. A lot. We thought it only made sense for us to share a few of our favorites with you guys. So enjoy, and let us know what you think!

*Oh and fyi, if you want to leave a comment, go to the top left hand side of the post, under the date. Click on the little black box and scroll down to the bottom of the post. Now, comment away!

Jessi, not Jess

How ’bout I let Jessica handle the introduction…

jessica1

Yep, you heard right. This is Jessica from West Stanly. As usual, she has a few ties to the studio already having known a number of our previous seniors. She plays softball at West, as well as on a traveling team called, Carolina Xtreme. She plans on going to college and studying something in the medical field. You can find her playing softball, hanging out with friends and family, or at her part-time job at Baskin Robbins. Yum.

jessica2

jessica3

Jessi loves her Chucks, diet Dr. Pepper, Lady GaGa, and having fun. Which became very clear during her shoot. The having fun part that is. And we laughed a lot. Maybe it was because we caught her mom dancing up on the hill (to which she said, “… I can’t take her anywhere”), or maybe it was Aaron falling off that stump, or me jumping up and down on tree branches. Or… maybe she was in a super good mood because she was going to look at cars after her shoot. Or maybe… just maybe, she’s simply a fun girl.

Something tells me to go with a combination of all of the above.

jessica4

jessica5

When all was said and done, we had a blast with Jessi. The best part was at the very end when Aaron usually ends the shoot with his infamous high-five. Well, we were pleasantly surprised when Jessi herself, initiated the high-five. She is the first senior to ever do so and will be remembered as such for decades to come.

So if you think Jessi’s shoot looked like fun, then you need to come in and experience it for yourself. We’ll be announcing our November special soon and very soon. So be sure to stay tuned and check back in with the website for the big reveal. Call 704.888.2881 or email me at haley@bamboostudios.net if you have any questions! Happy November.

Amanda: Queen of the Swamp

This is Amanda. She goes to Piedmont.  And I’m just gonna go right ahead and say it, she takes some killer photos. Look, I even have picures to prove it.

amanda1

amanda2

Amanda is interested in Physical Therapy and is hoping to attend a school that has a good program next Fall. Having applied to a slew of colleges, she’s hoping for ECU. Even despite Aaron’s attempt to convince her State was the better option. Stick to your guns, Amanda. Don’t let Aaron’s NCSU fanatics get the best of you.

amanda3

amanda4

We had a great time with Amanda on her shoot. The weather was surprisingly perfect and the lighting couldn’t have been any better. And as usual, we got the opportunity to learn quite a bit about Amanda. She hates snakes. She’s not a huge fan of algae. Her and her family have been on cruises to Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe. She hates to play with grass. She’s on yearbook staff at Piedmont. She wears UGGs. And gnats really really like her face.

amanda5

Oh and she has a chiuaua named Angel. But don’t let the name fool you. That dog is feisty!

amanda6

Amanda was the first senior to take advantage of this month’s super spectacular special. Which is… two free digital images (a $90 value!). But that only applies to those who come in and have a senior on-location shoot with us during the month of October. November is quickly approaching, so schedule your senior shoot with us today!

Jessica: The Astronomer

Hi again everyone. We’d like you to meet Jessica. She’s from West Stanly. She takes cosmetology. Loves Sunchips and Snickers. Wears her cousin’s jeans and dresses that aren’t hers. She enjoys changing her hair a lot. And she seems to rock whatever style she wears. Did I mention how she likes to wear her cousin’s jeans? Well, here she is, folks!

jessica1

jessica2

Jessica was a treat. And by treat, I mean fun to hang out with. Not in a “she-was-fun-to-snack-on” kind of way. At least, not that we’re aware of…

Moving on.

Jessica was laid-back and way fun. We did our thing. She did hers. And it just worked. Clearly. And as she told us beforehand, she’s always up for a good challenge. And that she was! She did an awesome job and we enjoyed every second of her shoot.

jessica3

jessica4

Jessica was another one of our seniors that took advantage of our incredible September special.  I’m sure she’d tell you it was a brilliant idea. But speaking of specials… we’ve got another one for you. Just for October. If you book your Senior on-location session with us during the month of October… we will give you… 2… free… wait for it… digital images! That’s right, 2 digital negatives for free. That’s a $90 value.

I mean, c’mon, talk about some bang for your buck. You pick out two images that you’d like digitized and we’ll give you each of those images in color, black & white, and sepia along with both print and web versions.

As a recap for anyone who isn’t familiar with our digital options; The print version (along with the print release) allows you to print them wherever you want to, in whatever size you want, and however many copies you want. The image is yours to do what you please. And the web version is email friendly so that you can send it to whomever and post it wherever!
Like I’ve said before, it’s the best of both worlds. And these two images are yours for free. IF you book your Senior on-location session with us for the month of October, that is. You know you want to!

Call us at 704.888.2881 to book your session today.

Introducing… Hayley!

Like she said, this is Hayley from the PLC. And she was a hoot. What is a hoot? You’re looking at it… well, her:

hayley16

We had so much fun with Hayley. Especially me. Aside from the fact that she shares my name… it’s because Hayley put up a good fight with Aaron. As usual, he dished out his craziness and tried to give her a hard time. Hayley took it.  Then she dished it right back. I love it when seniors give him a run for his money. So thank you, Hayley!

hayley2

hayley3

And with Hayley’s help we were finally able to figure out what it was that Aaron’s always doing with his face on shoots. For all you seniors who have experienced it, we’re both sorry, and excited to tell you we know why. It’s what he calls “Facial Affirmation,” and it’s his way of letting you know how you’re doing. Or which face you should be making. This comes in the form of a creepy giggle along with an extremely happy face or a hand motion close to the face accompanied by a serious look. You can thank Hayley for clearing up the confusion.

hayley4

Hayley hopes to eventually go to nursing school. And after spending a few hours with her, we know she’s up for the job. She’s not nearly as squeamish as Aaron and I.  And she handled the river and the bridge and the yellow wall with such fervor. Ultimately, she was a blast. And we enjoyed every second of her chill attitude. As well as that feisty side of hers. If I ever need someone to put Aaron in his place, I know exactly who to call!

hayley5

)h! and FYI: Countdown til the end of September, and therefore the end of $99 on-location sessions: T-minus 5 days.
