Senior Tour | New Dates and Locations Announced!

Howdy dudes and dudettes,
The much anticipated, up coming Senior Tour dates are here! The best news is that they all fall on a Teacher Workday or Spring Break.
If you don’t know what the Senior Tour is, then you have really missed the boat. Fortunately, we have sent a small life raft back to pick you up!
{ THE RAFT }The Senior Tour is a Bamboo Studios’ original. We pick the place, you pick the time. We schedule 4-5 sessions each date of the tour in each location. These are highly coveted and extremely exclusive. That’s because these sessions are only 40 bucks for 40 minutes! As most of you know, this is a ridiculous deal and ridiculous is our mantra.
So, without further ado, here are the newest Tour Dates and locations:
- 3.26 : Downtown Concord (workday for Cabarrus County Schools)
- 3.30 : NODA (workday for Mecklenburg and Stanly County Schools)
- 4.03 : Jetton Park (Spring Break for Mecklenburg County Schools)
- 4.11 : Downtown Monroe (Spring Break for Stanly, Union and Cabarrus County Schools)
How does this crazy thing work? Well all you have to do is pick your day and then call or email us to snag a slot. We schedule on the hour starting at 9am, but we only schedule a maximum of 5 shoots.
Your creative fee ($40) is due when you book your session and is non-refundable.
Last year was a hit and this year is going to be even better!

Whether you know it or not, this is the moment you have been waiting for. ALAN!
This Panther star is laid back, unassuming and just chill. A multi-sport athlete, Alan dominates both the baseball field and the basketball court. His plans for domination extend beyond his days as a blue panther and may include morphing into a Mountaineer or Quaker, both of which are equally frightening.
Sports run in this family. You may recall Alan’s older brother Patric. If you don’t, would you look at him!

Lauren : Pink Leopard | Charlotte Senior Portraits

We’d like to welcome to the stage……Lauren!
As we speak Lauren is nearing the end of her senior year at West Stanly. Beyond the Colt emblazoned walls she plans to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. While ensnared by high school like a caged leopard she occupies herself by participating in activities like cheerleading and shopping.
Lauren’s big sister came to us for her senior portraits and was able to join in on Lauren’s session as well. We always love it when Bamboo Alumni drop in and hang out with us.
Now, on to some bossa nova images!

Hey guys and gals! We hope you’re having a wonderful February. We’ve really missed you guys, but we’re back from all our adventures and ready to shoot you.
This means that the Senior Tour is back on. Please, save the applause until the end.
So here’s the skinny. Next Saturday, March 3rd, we will in NODA doing 40 minute shoots for 40 bukaroos. This is an unprecedented deal, as many of you know. If you didn’t know this already, now you do. Not only is this a killer deal, but its on a Saturday! Saturday shoots don’t come around very often so now is the time to act. We will only be booking FIVE sessions so space is limited.
What to know:
- In order to book your session you need to give us a call (704.888.2881) or shoot us an email (info@bamboostudios.net).
- Be prepared to pay for your session at the time of booking. This is non-refundable.
- The shoot will be in NODA. Below is a map to the YMCA where we will meet.
This is the perfect opportunity to have snag some rockin’ senior images especially if you about to graduate and totally hate your school images or you sleep in that day and missed them.

We’re back from Uganda

Hi there Bambooans! We missed you!
We just got back into the studio this week after an amazing mission trip to Uganda. We have a lot of catching up to do and a lot of images from the trip to go through. For now, here’s a picture to help tide you over. This young fella is one of the people we worked with from the peace village of Nakyote. You can see the village in the background.

Studio Closed : Uganda

Hi there Bambooans!
I wanted to inform you that the studio will be closed from today, January 20th through February 6th. We will be back in the studio on February 7th. We will be spending the next couple of weeks on a mission trip to Uganda, camping in the bush with the Karamojong tribe. I can’t wait to post some images on the blog when we return.
Konnichiwa Moriah : Charlotte Senior Portraits

Allow me to introduce to you…Moriah!
Moriah hails from Lake Norman High School where she delves into the art of awesomeness. There are many disciplines in the art of awesomeness such as, musical talent, debating, chess playing, Japanese, writing, tutoring, mastery of the postal system, book purchasing, comic development, color pencil wielding, nutcracker collecting, and bats just to name a few. Moriah’s fourth degree black belt in the art of awesomeness proves through stringent physical and mental testing that she mastered each of these disciplines.
Beyond all these talents, she is just an awesome person. (that’s the first qualification when appling for an apprenticeship in the study of awesomeness. just a tip for all you out there.)
The goal of her senior shoot was to capture her unique and wonderful personality. I think we did it. Let us know what you think.

The Tour Rolls On!

We have some awesome news…The Senior Tour is rolling on! That’s right, we have a new date for the Senior Tour : December 28th and this time we will be at The Urban Barn in Charlotte. The Urban Barn isn’t its official name, but that’s what all us photographer types call it. In fact, I don’t know if it has a real name. To give you an idea of the place, check out this post from our fabulous sister studio Kristin Byrum Photography
While we have shot here before, we have been wanting to do senior shoots here for awhile and now the time has come. So, strap on your boots and lace up your face for the greatest senior session of all time! You don’t want to miss this, but you probably will unless you skedaddle to the phone or your computational device and contact us. There are only 5 coveted slots available. Who’s knows if the tour will ever make it back here? I don’t, so why are you asking me!

Here come’s some Sarah from West Stanly…
Sarah is into softball and being awesome. We think that she certainly accomplished the later in during her shoot and we have the pictures to prove it.
The crazy part is that Sarah’s grandparents started the studio that is now Bamboo Studios. ‘Tis a small world.

Allison : Reggae Roots | Charlotte Senior Portraits

Possibly the best intro ever!
Allison hails from West Stanly and unlike most seniors who bring along props like, sports equipment, musical instruments, or electronic pets, Allison opted to use her family as her prop. We were stoked when we found out that we were going to get the opportunity to hang with this bunch again. You may recognize at least one of them from a previous session. That’s right, its Bamboo Alum “Zeus”. These guys are awesome. The shot below is from their up-coming album “Rolling Thunder”.
We loved the reggae vibe that Allison was giving off. Although, I couldn’t stop thinking about pancakes for some reason
This shot is super awesome. In fact, Allison and Zeus came up with the idea and I don’t think anyone else in a dress would climb into a tree for a picture. That’s why we love ‘em.
Staring at walls has become one of Allison’s many obsessions. Normally she stares into corners, but she was freestyling here. She is constantly uping her game!
