Alyssa: Diesel

In lieu of Friday Faves, I would like to present you with Alyssa from Piedmont. So with no further ado… here she is!
Alyssa was a blast to hang out with. As was the rest of her crew (or posse, if you prefer). Her boyfriend, Ryan, made his debut in a few photographs and if I’m not mistaken, Alyssa’s little sister captured a few amazing photographs during the shoot as well. All were a treat to be around. And on a side note, I’d like to say that I think Alyssa has the prettiest naturally blonde hair I’ve ever seen in real life. See what I mean?
And having recently traveled to Australia on a mission trip, she had a slew of awesome clothes and accesories from the great down under to wear during her shoot. And as is the case with most seniors, I wanted to steal all of her clothes (and that gorgeous hair of hers)! I’m still considering “borrowing” her purple headband. But you didn’t hear that from me.
Alyssa, like most of our seniors, is involved in a variety of activities. She plays soccer, she lifeguards (or rather, she guards life) and she travels. A lot. Not only has she been to Australia but she’s also been to Peru. Alyssa plans on becoming a Pharmacist and would like to attend Chapel Hill or Wingate.
And while she was dubbed “Diesel” by team Bamboo simply for posing (oh-so-beautifully) by a sign with “Diesel” written across it, we quickly came to realize that it was very accurate statement. While she may be a self-proclaimed tomboy, we saw her as much more than that. She carried herself in such a way that you knew simply by looking at her just how fun, authentic and truly herself she really is. And though she may still need that left handed “L” on occasion to aid with directions (just like yours truly), we thought she was magnificent.
Looking at these pictures, it’s clear just how awesome Alyssa is. Am I right or am I right?

Happy Friday, folks! Here a few things to brighten your day.
Favorite Video: Baby Laughing. Even if you’ve seen it before, watch it again. Yes, it’s that cute.
Favorite Music Website: Most of you have probably heard of Pandora, but if you haven’t, you’re in for a treat. Basically, you can create your own radio station. However, remember that you’re limited to 40 hours of listening per month. So use those hours wisely!
Favorite Local Park: Oakboro District Park. Bet you didn’t know that was there did ya?! Well now you do so go check it out!

Hey guys and gals, I just wanted to let you know that the studio will be closed today (Thursday, 5/27) and tomorrow. We will resume normally scheduled broadcasting on Tuesday, June First.

Did I mention that you’ll get the chance to play against Aaron on the Wii? Well, it’s true! He’s signed up for all of the tournaments, so here’s your chance to whoop him at Wii!

Meredith: Sweet 16

This is Meredith. She attends Gray Stone Day Academy and came to us for a Sweet 16 photo shoot. That’s right, we don’t only take pictures of awesome seniors. We do high schoolers of all ages. And Meredith was an absolute pleasure. Not to mention, really cool. I mean just check out what she does for a hobby…
She loves markmenship and certainly knows her way around rifles, shotguns, and bows. And on top of all that, she also runs cross country, takes piano lessons, participates in student council, and orienteering.
So the question is, what doesn’t Meredith do? Well, we still haven’t figured that out quite yet. But needless to say, we had a terrific time with Meredith. She was an incredible model and by far one of the most polite people I’ve ever met. We certainly hope to see Meredith again soon. Until then, Happy 16th Birthday, Meredith!!
One of our favorite parts about Meredith’s shoot was how she was able to incorporate so much of her personality into her shoot. By allowing us to photograph her hobby and her willingness to bring props that showcased who she is, we were able to capture her at her best. Well hello there. Long time no see!
Sorry for the delayed blogging. We’ve been working on a number of projects here at the studio and are getting back into the swing of things. But don’t worry, we’re still here!
And we’ve got some exciting news. We’ve added a new member to Team Bamboo. She’s our new intern. She’s fabulous. She’s fun. She’s bursting with talent. And she’s ready to spill her creative juices all over the place. Her name’s Laura and she’s a blast to have around. We love her. And you will too. Feel free to come by and meet her. You’ll be glad you did, trust me.
Well, wouldya look at that. It’s me. Haley. We thought since it’s been a while, we’d remind you what we look like. Here’s me. Cheesing. Laughing. And shying away from the camera. Yep, sounds about right!
And lastly. The one. The only. The photographer you’ve all come to know and love. Aaron. In all his glory.

We wanted to wish all of our Bamboo friends a Happy New Year. We hope 2010 is an amazing year for everyone! Speaking of the new year, we have a few things we wanted to share with you.
The studio will be closed for the month of January. We will not be able to schedule any photo sessions during that time. However, we will be open every Wednesday (January 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th) from 10 to 6. I (Haley) will be available for viewing consultations, checking emails, answering phone calls, returning voicemail, scheduling appointments, and I’ll simply be present so that you can come pick up any orders. Note: Any orders placed during the month of January will not be ready until the beginning of February.
We apologize for any inconvenience but look forward to seeing you in February! We will return to the studio with our regular business hours beginning February 2nd. That’s Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 6pm. Feel free to go ahead and schedule appointments now!
We’ll miss you but we’ll be back before you know it. Have an awesome January!!

I know what you’re thinking. Who is this Jonathan Lemmon fella?
Well, allow me to fill you in. Jonathan is a Christian music artist from Greensboro. He’s hysterical, he likes to have a good time, and people… he’s super talented. We insist that you check out his music here.
Jonathan needed a few shots for promotional material. So that’s where we came in. We were able to get some amazing stuff (as you can see) and had an absolute blast. And we laughed. A lot. We thought it only made sense for us to share a few of our favorites with you guys. So enjoy, and let us know what you think!
